Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards which included an Oscar for her film Piano. Her career began as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Acting has always been her love of life. In fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost her hearing in the left ear. She did not let it stop her from performing. When she was in college studying drama and moving to New York City with her plans in mind. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. Following her move from Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged an acting role as a support in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles, Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of series and television films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
