Dua Lipa is an English singer and musician born August 22, 1995, from London United Kingdom. In 2014, after working as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. It peaked at number three at the U.K. Albums Chart and released eight singles including Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. top-ranked song New Rules which peaked at sixth in the United States. Lipa has been awarded Brit Awards in 2018 in category of British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act. Furthermore, the platinum album has been praised throughout the world. Dua Lipa was born by London by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). Her parents are of Bosnian descent by her maternal grandmother. Additionally, her ancestors are from Peja, which is a Kosovo town of Peja. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. Gjin and Rina are her siblings. Lipa was heavily influenced by her father who also serves as the lead guitarist and singer for the Kosovan band Oda. Her father played music at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing around the age of five. At the age of nine she started learning to sing. Lipa performed Beautiful, by Christina Aguilera as well as If Ain't Got You from Alicia Keys. Lipa's record contract with Warner Bros. Records was signed in 2014. The first single she released was New Love was released on August 15, 2015.
